We are OUT OF NETWORK with all insurance companies. Please inquire by phone or email if you would like us to run a verification to determine the status of your benefits, and whether you have out of network coverage. You can also enter your insurance info when you book your initial session online, and we will get back to you once we have run a benefits verification. You should be prepared to pay for the entire cost of your treatment up front until your insurance status has been verified. 

Currently we can handle billing for patients who have OUT OF NETWORK coverage with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, or Cigna, though this is subject to change at any time.

Patients with United Healthcare will pay for treatment up front and then receive a "superbill" (a specifically coded receipt) which they can submit to their insurer for reimbursement.

Insurance companies often attempt to deny their patients coverage by deeming treatment not "medically necessary." If your insurer begins denying treatment, we will no longer be able to handle the billing but can provide you with a superbill for you to self-submit going forward, as insurance companies tend to be less hostile to patients than providers. You will then need to pay for your full session at the time of service. 

Our ability to handle insurance is subject to change at any time, as the insurance landscape is in a state of flux and most insurance companies are becoming increasingly hostile to acupuncture and other therapies such as PT and chiropractic. 

Companies that offer IN Network benefits only (HMO plans) that we will NOT be able to accept include: Oscar, HealthFirst, Fidelis, and Metroplus. If you have any of these insurances you will be considered a self-pay patient. Medicare currently does not recognize licensed acupuncturists so we cannot accept it, though we can accept some Medicare SUPPLEMENT plans.
